Free 15 minute phone consultation

Pursuing psychotherapy services is an important decision - so is determining whether we will be a good 'fit' working together.  This time gives you an opportunity to learn more about me and my practice, what to expect, and to ask any questions you have to decide if you want to work with me.  Similarly, I will want to learn more about what your goals/needs are, what would be helpful from me, and whether I am the best fit for you.  Please feel free to use this time to ask any questions needed to make your decision.  If we agree together that there is a good 'fit,' we will schedule our first appointment..

If interested, simply give me a call to schedule  - 651-571-8967

Initial Appointment

Our first meeting will be an opportunity to get to know one another better. I want to learn more about you - personal history, reasons for pursuing counseling now - as well as to hear more about your goals/hopes for the work together. This is also a great time for you to ask questions about me and any curiosities you have about the counseling process. This session will be somewhat longer that a usual meeting so that we can also take care of some logistical (or 'housekeeping') details.  For example, confidentiality and steps taken to ensure your privacy are very important to ensure your comfort and safety with the process.  Part of the session will be dedicated to talking about these efforts and other topics such as contacting me, resources for safety, and billing,

Prior to this session, you will receive an email request to set up an account in the secure and confidential portal used for my practice (I use Simple Practice for this purpose).  Complete and sign the forms provided prior to the meeting (and bring any questions you might have to the session).

Hybrid sessions available

I offer both in-person and tele-health session options.  As a relational, interpersonal process, in-person sessions are preferred whenever possible - especially during the beginning of our work together. This said, I value the benefits and convenience of remote, tele-health and welcome using this option to fit your life circumstances and needs.

Fees & Cancellations

Free    15-minute phone consultation

$225    Intake/Diagnostic session (60 minutes)

$180.    Standard Individual therapy session (50 minutes)

I am both an in-network and out-of-network provider. I will work with you and your insurance provider to understand your options. In many cases, service fees are shared between you and the provider, and some require a deductible.  Some providers may only cover certain diagnoses or set a limit on number of covered sessions. Given this range of options, it is up to you to learn about and understand your coverage.

You are responsible for full payment at the time of service if using an out-of-network option, and forms of payment include check, cash, credit/debit, and HSA cards.

Cancellations / Late Policy

Making a commitment to the timely attendance of sessions is one of the factors that makes the counseling process work.  If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, I ask that you give me 48 hours notice - this will give someone else sufficient time to schedule if they are looking for an appointment opening.  Any cancellations made within this 24 hour window will be charged the full session fee. Insurance providers do not pay for missed appointments so you will be responsible for the full amount.  If you are running late, your session, in most cases, will be shortened and the full session fee will be charged.
